Dr. Corin Sweeny Deinhart: I am an historian, educator, artist, and writer who is passionate about making history exciting and accessible! My ranging experiences as an academic historian and educator, paired with my international background in public history make me highly and uniquely qualified to help bring your project to fruition.
Public History Services
Trained and accredited in public history at the Ph.D. level, I want to be a viable tool for communities. I believe history should be accessible to everyone and an actionable source for cultural understanding, social justice, community healing, and revitalizing spaces. My specialties lie in:
- ensuring that best practices and academic rigor are applied to the historical research and narrative crafting of public facing projects.
- working with organizations and communities to critically engage with history and the past.
- critically evaluating and assessing public-facing histories and narratives.
- curating history to suit the intended audience/public.
Services I offer include:
- exhibition development and curatorial advisement including historical interpretation through primary resources, art, visual materials, objects, and text.
- speaking to classes, organizations, and groups on subjects within the field of public history.
- curriculum development and devising educational materials for courses up to postgraduate and Ph.D. levels.
- creating public programming, and community engagement + outreach strategies that suit the needs of individual projects/organizations.
Historical Research and Writing Services
I approach historical research and interpretation with academic rigor and best practices. If your organization is seeking assistance with the research and communication of a particular historical topic, period, or figure, or you're looking to commemorate a historical milestone or anniversary for your history and cultural heritage site, museum, or business, I can assist and advise throughout all stages of the process, including:

My chapter, "Negotiating 'Bottom-Up' Public History in Post-Transition Cambodia" is part of the volume History in Public Space, edited by Joanna Wojdon, Dorota Wiśniewska, published by Routledge Taylor & Francis Group 2024.
This collection of global perspectives on public history makes for an excellent companion to upper level undergraduate and graduate level public history courses.
