About the Spring and Summer 2024 Collections
Monarchs
Does anything coney summertime better than the monarch butterfly?! The monarch butterfly pieces are part of a larger series of work that I call my 'aumakua collection. Each monarch is sculpted from porcelain, attached, and hand painted on functional wares that are glazed with a beautiful turquoise celadon.
Desert Dream
Inspired by the colorful Arizona Desert landscape, where I lived for several years and was first introduced to the ceramic arts. The Desert Dream Collection includes pieces glazed in a combination of Lavender and Copper Blue, Rose Quartz, and Blue Sand.
The Honeybee Collection
I initially made the honeybee collection especially for my very first juried art show in Medina Ohio, a municiplaity known for their bees. I featured the collection at subsquent shows. Seeing how people everywhere were drawn to these pieces, I decided that the honeybee collection is here to stay for a while!
Sand and Sea
The Sand and Sea collection is my ode to my Pacific island home, Guam. I made a series of four Guam Green Sea Turtle 'aumakua mugs, which have sold out. With all the love my Green Sea Turtles have gotten, I'll be making more. The quantity will be limited though, so contact me to reserve yours today!
